Well, today has been super fun so far; I've had a great time introducing everyone to Frankie! But as I was looking through her photographs in the lightbox, I suddenly thought to myself "Why have I photographed something that's supposed to be all about imagination and bringing things to life in such a static environment?"
So I grabbed Frankie, my camera and my son and we had a jolly good fun time photographing under a beautiful weeping willow tree in our garden

He has an entire army of Bobinies, which always have to be wrapped up in a blankie with him for bed, and he plays with them for hours. So our photoshoot today was very natural to say the least! I've only really editted one of the photos, but there are so many more that are just so much fun! I want to share them all with you, so I thought I'd create this little article, "Behind

Modular OrigamiOrigami, literally meaning 'paper folding', is the well-known traditional Japanese art of doing exactly what it says: folding paper. Its goal? Simply to take a flat piece of paper and transform it into something awesome.
Modular origami is a branch of the art form that allows artists to achieve results they couldn't with a single piece of paper. Two or more sheets are used, and each sheet is folded into identical shapes termed 'modules' or 'units'. Each module is then assembled to create the final sculpture.
While the single piece of paper rule is abandoned in modular origami, all the other traditional rules still apply: no glue, no cuts, no thread, no fastenings. The pieces must be adhered by the creation of flaps or inserts in the individual pieces.
These deviants showcase this technique with some amazing 3-dimensional origami structures.

Two months ago, we asked you the community to give us input on ways to merge, remove, add and retire sub-categories for easier browsing and submitting.
We were instructed to remove clutter and merge galleries rather than make more mess, so we gave priority to removing redundant galleries instead of creating more. We understand that many of you love new galleries and would be thrilled to have a new gallery for every single craft, but please understand that this is not possible. Please take a look at the current galleries and let us know if you think that any of them can be merged or is unnecessary.

Ahri Cosplay - Sleeves TutorialHello again!
This is the tutorial for the sleeves of her dress. It is debatable whether or not her sleeves are attached to her top or not. I personally made them separate because It would be even more constricting than it already is XD. I would have liked to made the top of my sleeves a little bigger and I may redo them- but that's for something else. :3
In my first initial post about Ahri's top I posted a picture of the patterns I made, the stencil on the left is the one I made for the sleeve. I know it looks big, but it should! You want to leave enough room at the top and the bottom of the sleeve so it will flair out.

Here's the pattern to my favorite pair of fingerless gloves. I'm currently making a pair for my brother, so I will be posting the pattern to this specific pair (I often make small changes to size and colors depending on who I'm making them for). This will have two different colors, but you can easily opt for one color (or even more!)
For this, you will need:
US 3 (3.25mm) double-pointed needles. I use five needles, but you can use four.
Row/stitch counter (or some way to keep track of your rows).
6 oz of Caron Simply Soft yarn in Dark Sage; medium (4), suggested for use with US 8 needles.
6 oz of Caron Simply Soft yarn in Grey Heather; medium (4), suggested for use with US 8 needles.
Threading needle. You can also use a crochet hook.
Two stitch holders; size does not matter here.
Stitch markers. You can also use spare bits of yarn.
Spare yarn, preferably of a different color than what you're using.

Scary Cosplaying experiences.I'm pretty sure my horror stories are nothing compared to those of a veteran con goer, but it doesn't take a genius to know that some people you run into at conventions aren't exactly just being friendly.
I was at Ikkicon last winter, basically acting as a bodyguard for my friend in a maid outfit, who, mind you, is only fourteen. I can't tell you how many times a middle aged man would come up to her and hug her. Especially this one man cosplaying as Mario who refused to let go for several minutes. I really don't know why the men at these conventions go after anything female and moving, but I try to avoid them.
Also, believe it or not, what I would consider a creepy, old man, was passing out cookies to every girl in a skimpy cosplay. Maybe the man was just being nice, and checking to see if anyone wanted a cookie, but let's just put ourselves back in reality.

I must say, she's definitely going pro now! The doll arrived at impeccable shape. He came embedded in that polyethylene foam block carved on the shape of the doll, like Iplehouse does, which is, IMO, the most safe way to ship a doll (: And the certificate came in the most adorable way possible: a wax-sealed letter! Pony base: $5 (Filly = $7, Alicorn made from unicorn and peg instead of sculpted = 10$)
Sculpting: $15-25

Gender: (add $1 for male, $2 extra for increased height)
Accessories: $1-5 (depending on size and how intricate. DJ PON-3 glasses would be $2. I can sew hats, depending on how complicated they are.)

Rehaired Fashion ponies: I am still learning how to style pony hair, but I will accept fashion style size commissions. You would have to cover the $13 for the base and between $15-25 for the hanks of hair. Painting would also be in the $15-25 range.

Sculpted Fashion ponies: Bribe me. Probably requires a lot of sculpey and paint.

I have no idea how much it'll cost to make them, but consider that I'm in a little dorm room and I would most likely need to buy paints just for your pony, and sculpey.

As for bases: you may provide a base, hair or no hair. I would prefer for them to be new and out of the box, symbols still on (I have acetone and an exacto knife.) This will take $5 off your commission price! :3 However, don't dump 50 ponies on me! x.x I will limit the ponies to only the first taking off for the price. Please let me know what pony you intend to send me, so we can make sure it'll work out okay. I have 3 of each type of filly right now except Sweetie Belle (I have one of her), a Princess Celestia, and two Raritys.

Ponies are painted with Acrylic and sealed with matte, the eyes and cutie marks are sealed with gloss.

They are also in my gallery, in their own folder.

Bonbon is very easy to sculpt, and only has two mane colors, so she would be placed at $15 sculpting, and $18 painting.
However, a Pinkie Pie or Rainbow Dash would cost more. Pinkie's sculpting would be extremely difficult, and Rainbow Dash would probably be $25 for painting alone, because of all the colors! But that doesn't mean I won't make them.
I'm also open to making your OC, but I would prefer as many angles of their manes and tails as possible, not to mention details on the body! (freckles, etc). I can also do G1 to G4 (or G2, or 3 > 4).

I accept Paypal. I expect half of the commission to be deposited when you make your order, and the other half once you receive your pony.
Please keep in mind that I am a college student who is really busy. Your custom could take a long time (1-2 mos.) to get finished, sorry! D: In the summer (May-August), I work at least one job four days per week (babbysitting). However, I have more time to work on customs than during college "season" (August-May)
